The IBEX 35 measures the performance of the leading and most liquid Spanish equities listed on the Spanish stock exchanges. It is BME's flagship benchmark for the Spanish equity market and is widely used as the main domestic and international reference for Spanish stocks, as well as an underlying for futures, options, ETFs, and structured products. The index is constructed as a free-float-adjusted capitalization-weighted price index, making it most representative of Spain's large, liquid blue-chip companies.
