VWOB is a passive ETF that seeks to track the Bloomberg USD Emerging Markets Government RIC Capped Index, providing U.S.-dollar-denominated exposure to emerging-markets sovereign and quasi-sovereign issuers (governments, agencies, and government-owned entities). Because the bonds are USD-denominated, it largely avoids local-currency FX risk for U.S.-based investors, but it still carries meaningful emerging-markets country and credit risk. With an intermediate-rate profile (about ~6.8 years duration as of 12/31/2025), it is commonly used for higher-yielding EM hard-currency debt exposure and diversification versus U.S. core bonds.
