BIL is an ultra-short Treasury bill ETF that seeks to match the price and yield performance (before fees and expenses) of the Bloomberg 1–3 Month U.S. Treasury Bill Index. It holds publicly issued U.S. T-bills with roughly 1–3 months remaining maturity, so interest-rate sensitivity is very low and returns tend to track front-end cash/T-bill yields (minus fees). It’s commonly used as a cash-management / parking-cash vehicle or as a low-duration collateral substitute.
