Because coupons reset frequently (portfolio weighted-average days to reset ~34 days), interest-rate duration is very low, so it’s often used as a floating-rate income sleeve and as a potential hedge against rising short-term rates. Key risks are credit/spread risk (leveraged borrowers; typically below investment grade), liquidity in stressed markets, and SOFR/base-rate declines which reduce coupons over time.
